American Heart Association Recognizes Windermere Prep

Third Grader Andrew Blakeslee is holding a plaque recently presented to Windermere Prep by the American Heart Association. The award recognized WPS for being the number one combined fundraising school in the Florida region for the AHA’s annual Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart programs. Andrew was one of WPS's top three student fund raisers for the AHA’s 2004-2005 campaign. Windermere Prep Students in PreK-3 through second grade participated in the annual Jump Rope for Heart event and those in third through sixth tackled Hoops for Heart. A total of $12,855 was collected by WPS students to help fight America's #1 and #3 killers -- heart disease and stroke. The 2006 Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart events will take place on February 10. This will mark WPS’s fifth year of participation in the charity events.
