Windermere Prep Fourth Grader Wins Top Choral Award

Windermere Prep Fourth Grader Samantha Mayfield (left) is presented the Directors Award by WPS Fine Arts Form Master and Choral Director Katrina Gatti at the school’s annual Fine Arts Awards Banquet. The Directors Award is presented to one choral student annually, who not only demonstrates outstanding vocal performance, but maintains the highest grade in the course. Samantha’s competition included the members of both the Beginning Chorus (grades four and five) and the Concert Chorus (grade 6 and above). In addition to a certificate and a lapel pin, Samantha will also have her name engraved on a plaque that remains at the school. In addition to Chorus, awards were presented in Band, Upper Form Art and Upper Form Drama. The evening also included the school’s first induction ceremony for the Junior Thespian Society.
