Windermere Prep Students Rock On with Fund-raiser

Windermere Prep PreK-4 teacher Danielle Smith (left) and Kindergarten teacher Amiee Kelly are clad in Rock and Roll finery and are joined by WPS students Warren Sapp, Matthew Barry, Anthony Bravo and Jackson Hanson, as they perform “Give Me that Old Time Rock and Roll” for the WPS preschool and kindergarten classes.

Windermere Prep students are “Rocking On” to the beat of the fall Innisbrook Wraps and Gifts fund-raiser. The Windermere Prep Volunteer Association (WPVA) recently kicked off its annual student fund-raiser with four assemblies to introduce students to the Innisbrook products and incentive prizes.

In keeping with this year’s Innisbrook rock-and-roll theme, WPS students enjoyed a dress down day in conjunction with the kickoff. Students paid two dollars to wear rock-and-roll attire, with all the proceeds going to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

Lower Form students were treated to a performance of the "Windermere Prep Big Bucks Band," made up of teachers and students culled from the audience that day. The Innisbrook fund-raiser continues through Sept.22.

The sale also includes an Internet component, where students can have out-of-town friends and relatives make purchases on their behalf, and have items shipped directly to their homes. Parents can sign their children up online at www.innisbrook.com and have a link sent directly to relatives if they so choose.

In addition to the thank you incentive prizes being offered by Innisbrook, the WPVA is also conducting weekly Bonus Prize drawings for students who reach certain sales thresholds. Students need to return the weekly coupon that was attached to their Innisbrook packet by the weekly deadline. The first coupon, for those selling five or more items, should be turned in by Sept. 8. Coupon 2, for those selling 10 or more items, needs to be turned in by Sept. 15; and Coupon 3, for those selling 20 or more items, is due by the sale’s closing date – Sept. 22. Bonus prizes include a boom box, 5" Black and White Flat Screen televisions, personal CD players, and book and entertainment gift cards

Students entered in any one of the three weekly Bonus Prize drawings will also qualify for the special grand prize drawing, in which some of the top Innisbrook prizes will be awarded including an iPod Shuffle, a portable DVD player, and a Grab-It vending machine.
