Windermere Prep Hosts Author Peter Roop


Upper-form students (from left: Maria Primera, Faisal Lateef, Jessica Lee, and Sydney Waitz) earned the privilege of going out to lunch with Mr. Roop (center). They took this opportunity to ask him questions in a small-group setting and to get advice about their own writing.

Author Peter Roop speaks to a group of Windermere Prep Kindergarten students.

Peter Roop, author of more than 100 books for children of all ages, visited Windermere Preparatory School in May for two days. He is best known for his picture book Keep the Lights Burning Abbie and his many historical fiction stories.

While at WPS, Mr. Roop spoke to students in all grades in group sessions, and he also hosted a family session after school. Students also had the opportunity to get books autographed and to ask the author questions. In preparation for his visit, students read and studied his books.
