Creative Essay Winner

Congratulations to fourth grader Grant Erhart who won honorable mention in the elementary school category for his creative essay based on the book Mr. Popper’s Penguins for the Orlando Sentinel! The fourth graders competed in an annual writing contest sponsored by the Orlando Sentinel’s One Book One Community campaign, which chooses a children's book each year and encourages kids and the adults in their lives to read it together. The fourth graders read the book as part of their novel studies in class. Grant’s essay appeared in the Orlando Sentinel on Sunday, March 18, 2007.
