WPS Parent Competes on Dancing with the Stars

Many members of the WPS community had the opportunity to see Joey
Fatone’s impromptu singing performance at the WPVA Swing Fling Gala. Fatone, a musician/actor/Broadway star was a member of one of the most popular singing groups of all-time, *NSYNC, which holds the records for the most albums sold in a single day and week. Fatone has also starred in movies My Big Fat Greek Wedding and The Cooler, and the Broadway musicals, Rent and Little Shop of Horrors. But, more importantly he is a WPS parent, and we all need to support him in his latest challenge -- competing on the new season of the popular ABC show Dancing with the Stars. Last Monday, Fatone joined partner Kym Johnson (returning for her second season) in the two-hour premiere. For the first time in the show’s four seasons, viewers get two weeks of dance performances before sending a star home in the first results show (premiering March 27 at 9 p.m.) The scoring is divided evenly between the judges and the viewers at home, ensuring unpredictable outcomes at the end of every results show. In the premiere Joey and Kym tallied the highest score from the judges. Be sure to tune in on Monday (March 26) to watch them tackle a new dance, and don’t forget to vote. Phone lines stay open for approximately 30 minutes after the end of the show.
