LaFalce Takes the Helm as Headmaster for the Day at Windermere Prep
Third Grader Nicholas LaFalce recently took over the helm at Windermere Prep as Headmaster for the Day. His parents, Marla and Nick LaFalce of Turtle Creek, won Nicholas the honor by being the highest bidder at this year’s WPS Gala auction. As Headmaster for the Day, Nicholas sponsored a dress down day to benefit the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In order to come to school out of uniform, WPS students had to bring in items from an SPCA wish list that included dog food, kennels, towels, and cleaning and office supplies. Although his fellow students had the opportunity to dress down, Nicholas donned a tie and blazer, more befitting his headmaster title. After greeting the student body during morning announcements, and visiting every classroom, Nicholas spent a large part of his day collecting all the items students had brought in to contribute to the SPCA. Hardly new to a leadership role, Nicholas has been consistently honored at WPS for his fundraising prowess in the school’s Box Tops for Education program. He has several WPS Perfect Attendance awards to his credit. He also won a trophy this year for “Most Original Car,” at the Bear Level, in the local Pinewood Derby as a member of Cub Scout Pack 84. In his spare time, Nicholas enjoys video and computer games, playing with his two cats, and building LEGOs.

The volume of contributions for the SPCA continued to grow as Nicholas’ day as Headmaster continued.
