Learning to Learn

Welcome to Windermere Preparatory Middle School!

In grades 6, 7, and 8, our mission is to create true “Renaissance” ladies and gentlemen, as students are exposed to a varied curriculum, one that requires creativity, hands-on experiences, and ownership of learning. In addition to the core subjects of math, science, social studies, and language arts, students are exposed to foreign languages, the arts, and daily physical education. Today’s world requires critical thinkers and problem solvers; thus, the Middle School Program of Study focuses on propelling our students to a higher level, engaging students in integrated studies that encourage independent thought and application of learning. Such a program prepares our Middle School students for high school, college, and life while helping them discover their true potential as they refine their identities.

Our Middle School teachers work together to create cross-curricular learning experiences for our students, bringing lessons to life with meaningful ways in which to learn. Just as each age is unique, so are the goals for each grade level. Our program capitalizes on each grade level’s unique qualities, focusing on a global theme that connects learning to essential truths: 6th grade “Opening the Book”, 7th grade “Writing my Story” & 8th grade “Turning a Page”.
