BENEFITS OF BOARDING

FUELING UP FOR CREATIVE THINKING
We grab a healthy breakfast in our dining hall before heading to class. In robotics, we work on assembling pieces of our robots to complete specific tasks, using coding to program the functions. We apply our creativity to build a bot that’s one of a kind.

EARLY MORNINGS

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES
In science class, we dissect rats to better understand their anatomy and to see how organs work. We use rats because their systems are like humans’ systems, giving us a tangible sense of each part’s function and its connections to other parts.

LUNCHTIME
We like to eat at the Laker Cafe because there are so many nutritious options. We catch up with friends, and when the weather is nice, we sit outside and watch the basketball game on the outdoor court.

PERFECTING AN ART
We practice playing wind instruments in Wind Ensemble, perfecting our skills further. Last year, we had a world-renowned composer create a song just for us at WPS, and we premiered the song at our spring concert.

BUILDING ENDURANCE
We finish our class schedule with the award-winning weightlifting class led by Coach Micah Kurtz at the sports performance center. Multiple teams from different sports lift weights to get stronger, build their endurance, and work harder to meet their targets.

A NIGHT-TIME TREAT
After school, after we eat dinner, we head to Jeremiah’s. It’s a fun ice cream shop within walking distance of our residential life village. We love grabbing a local treat before we resume homework before bed.
