Box Tops

You’ve
seen them at the grocery store -- The Box Tops for Education
hot pink, white, blue, and yellow coupons that can be found
on the top of General Mills products. These sometimes very
tiny coupons are worth 10 cents apiece to the WPVA. That may
not sound like a lot, but it adds up -- the WPVA was able
to collect over $2,600 during the last school year from this
program.
What
are the ways I can participate?
Collect
Box Tops Coupons
In addition to the one received in the WPS June mailing, students
will bring home Box Tops collection sheets six times during
the school year. They will cover the appropriate grids with
Box Tops (like the one at the top of this page). Any
Bonus Box Tops Coupons (oversized or special supermarket
generated coupons) should be placed in a plastic bag
and attached to the sheet. Then mark off with an X the corresponding
number of Box Top spaces on the collection sheet. Students
turn in the collection sheets by the noted due date. If you
need more forms you can copy the one you have, or email (Lklumph@aol.com)
and she will send you a file that prints as a word document.
Join the Box Tops for Education Booster Club
All you have to do is go online to www.boxtops4education.com
and register, designating Windermere Prep as your beneficiary.
Registration takes only a few minutes. By registering, you’ll
not only receive information on Box Tops contests and bonus
opportunities, but you’ll get access to money-saving
coupons, easy mealtime solutions, exclusive access to the
Box Tops Marketplace, and so much more. Best of all, it’s
absolutely free! You’ll also help Windermere Prep qualify
for Bonus Box tops. This fall Box Tops is offering seven free
Box Tops for every new Booster that registers on the web site.
These are automatically tallied.
Shop through the Box Tops Marketplace
Like the School Pop program, Box Tops has a Marketplace. Logging
on to their website www.boxtops4education.com
and doing your online shopping through their portal garners
rebates for WPVA. You’ll earn up to 8% of every qualifying
purchase for the WPVA. Consistently throughout the years,
Box Tops has had the highest rebate rate of any of the other
rebate programs from Oriental Trading, which many of
you use to buy classroom and party favors. So, when placing
your Oriental Trading order, don’t forget to log in
to Box Tops first.
Apply for and Use a Box Tops Visa card
Again, like School Pop, Box Tops has its own Visa® card.,
that offers a 1% rebate back to our school. They also offer
a $5 bonus on activation.
What
are Class Challenge contests and Bonus Prize drawings?
Each new challenge is marked by students bringing home a new
Box Tops Collection Sheet.
Individually, students receive a small thank
you gift, for each collection sheet they turn in. Plus, they
are entered into a Bonus Prize Drawing, which is held soon
after each challenge deadline. Donated prizes for these drawings
in the past have included everything from 5-inch televisions,
CD boom boxes, store gift cards, and telephones.
As a class, homerooms compete for different
prizes from Heart Healthy Snacks to Pizza parties throughout
the year. (If your family doesn’t complete enough sheets
for each student in your family, split the credit by noting
all the children’s names on the sheet.) Be sure to turn
in incomplete sheets as well. Every Box Top counts when it
comes to classroom totals.
Special Commendation. The WPVA acknowledges
the top collectors of Box Tops at the end of the school year
across the grades. Certificates and pins are presented.
