Form II consists of grades seven and eight. The curriculum is based on an integrated approach to learning, one that offers real-life, meaningful situations in which students learn. Students participate in cross-curricular projects and programs that require application of skills and critical thinking to enhance learning. Each semester focuses on a global theme that connects learning to essential truths. These themes put learning in the context of the world, and unite lessons among classes, which include Pre-Algebra/Algebra, Language Arts, Earth and Physical Sciences, Cultural Geography and U.S. History, and Latin. In addition, students have the opportunity to take an additional foreign language or liberal arts courses. During their studies, Form II students participate in ongoing community service projects, and serve as learning buddies to elementary form students. The seventh graders maintain a portfolio throughout the year that showcases their development, as well as highlights class assignments and multimedia presentations. The eighth graders participate in their rite of passage, “Turning a Page,” during which they make an oral presentation to a faculty panel at the end of the year.
