Dear WPS Families,
Welcome back to our returning families. I would also like to wish our new families a warm welcome to Windermere Preparatory School. I am confident that it will not take you very long to discover that WPS is a very special place where you and your children will flourish both intellectually and emotionally. Despite having nearly doubled in size in the past few years, WPS has still been able to maintain the feeling of a small close-knit community. This year WPS also has the additional excitement of joining the Meritas family of International schools. Our partnership with Meritas will allow WPS to become the educational leader that it is meant to be.
The Windermere Preparatory Volunteer Association (WPVA) is the parent organization on campus that serves all grade levels. All families of WPS are automatically members of the WPVA. Through our volunteer work we raise funds for the school community as a whole, produce social events, and support the academic and athletic clubs and activities of the school. The WPVA executive board has been hard at work organizing the upcoming school year so that we will be able to support the WPS community with some great social and academic events. We encourage each of you to find your niche in the volunteer community at WPS and get involved in your child's educational experience. We offer many ways for you to do this. There are volunteer opportunities for as little or as much time as you are able to commit.
WPVA General Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 8:30am in the Dining Hall. I encourage you to come to the meetings. It is a great way to meet other parents and find your way to contribute to your child's experience. Please feel free to contact me or any board member with questions, suggestions or concerns.
